Stuck on a project? Let’s talk it through.

A virtual session with a hospitality interior designer — for the empty building you're evaluating, the renovation that's stalled, or the design problem you can't quite name.

How a Design Therapy Session Works

Design Therapy started the way a lot of good ideas do — over a glass of wine.

For years, friends and friends-of-friends would pull us aside at dinner parties to ask about a paint color, a renovation that wasn't working, a building they were thinking about buying. An hour and a glass later, they'd leave with a plan. We realized something simple: good design shouldn't be locked behind a six-figure project. Sometimes you just need an honest conversation with someone who knows what they're doing.

So we made it official.

At MIKO Interior Design, we're commercial interior designers — but we're problem solvers first. After fifteen years of working on boutique hotels, restaurants, and Main Street businesses, we've seen most of the issues you're likely facing, and we love a good design puzzle.

A Design Therapy session is one focused conversation about your project. You bring the questions, the floor plans, the contractor quotes, the Pinterest board, the half-finished space — whatever you've got. We'll talk it through, give you our honest professional take, and send you off with clear next steps.

No commitment. No sales pitch. Just shop talk with someone who's been in your shoes.

Let’s get started

Discovery Call

$50 deposit | 20 minutes

A focused intro call to learn about your project, talk through scope, and figure out if MIKO is the right fit — for a full engagement or a paid session. The $50 deposit is fully credited toward your first Design Therapy session or refunded if we're not the right fit for your project.

Mini-Session

$125 | 30 minutes

One focused question, one clear answer. Perfect for a single decision you're stuck on — a paint color, a finish quote, a furniture layout, or a quick gut-check before you commit.

Full Design Therapy Session

$350 | 90 minutes

A deep-dive working session for a project that needs real thinking time. We'll walk through your space, your goals, your budget, and your sticking points — and you'll leave with concrete direction.

What to bring

Come with whatever you've got.

Floor plans, photos, inspiration images, contractor quotes, paint chips, your half-built website mockup — anything that helps us see what you're working with. The more context you can share ahead of time, the more we can get done in the hour.

After booking, you'll receive a short intake form to share project details and any documents you'd like us to review.

Let’s make sure you’re a good fit

Design Therapy is great for:

  • Owners evaluating a building before purchase

  • Restaurant or hotel projects that have stalled mid-design

  • Operators wanting a second opinion on a contractor's plan

  • Anyone weighing whether to hire a designer for the full project

  • Quick guidance on finishes, layout, or sourcing decisions

It's probably not the right fit if:

  • You need full construction documents — that's our Full Concierge Service

  • You're looking for residential interior design (we focus exclusively on commercial + hospitality)
